They are fired at lower temperatures than glazes, about 750°C, and exist in numerous colors. With some lusters you can create beautiful effects such as mother-of-pearl or shiny gold.
Lusters are transparent, so the subsurface greatly influences the color. Firing also has a big impact on the color of the final result. You can also apply several layers, firing each time in between, to obtain extraordinary colors.
