Working with a press mould

CastiCasting moulds are designed to be filled with casting clay and then emptied, but pressure moulds work differently.

Forever learning.

You use the shape of the mould to press your clay against to get the shape you want. You can either work in a press mould or over a press mould, depending on the shape of your mould.

In fact, with this technique, any shape can become your mould. You can use the dishes, bowls and trays in your kitchen as your mould. Just be careful not to accidentally eat some clay….
